DO NOT BE AFRAID.
Israel continued meeting opposition and kings who were hostile and ready to wipe out the young and emerging nation. It is indeed disturbing that without any genuine or observable reason, King Sihon decided to mobilize forces against Israel.
Read vs.22-26 and notice what happened to him and his army? We should constantly pray for our national leaders that God will guide their decisions, especially on issues that may result to wars.
Israel consolidated their occupation of the Amorite territory. Read vs. 32-33 and notice other nations that were defeated. The battle of life cannot end until we get to our Promised Land.
And so, the more battles, the more victories, the more experiences and strategies we acquire for future battles. We should however avoid relying on our strength or depending on the experience of yesterday. They are not good enough for the battles of today and tomorrow.
Notice God’s assuring words in vs.34-35? Undoubtedly, Moses must have been greatly encouraged. He went out to the war with confidence and courage. God is still telling us not to be afraid of all the battles we may face. Victory is guaranteed. Read Isaiah 43:1-5.
PRAYER: Grant me victory in all the battles of life dear Lord, for you are my only hope.
Break down of the guide:
Despite facing opposition from hostile kings, Israel continued to emerge victorious, with King Sihon’s army being defeated as an example. It’s essential to pray for national leaders, asking God to guide their decisions, especially regarding issues that may lead to war. Israel’s victories, including the defeat of the Amorite territory, demonstrate that the battle of life is ongoing, but with each victory, we gain experience and strategies for future battles. Ultimately, God assures us not to be afraid, promising victory and encouraging us to trust in His strength rather than our own.
Prayer for Monday:
THANK GOD FOR HIS LOVE AND CARE FOR US AND OUR FAMILIES.
PRAY FOR FAITHFUL WITNESS TO THOSE MEMBERS OF OUR FAMILIES WHO ARE YET TO KNOW AND SURRENDER TO THE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST.
